Radio Samples

Television delivers the emotional punch, but often your campaign needs to tell more of the story. Or television is too expensive. In either case, radio may make more sense. Congressman John Shimkus (IL-19)

shimkusPortrait_GraphicWhen redistricting stuck Congressman John Shimkus (R) and Congressman David Phelps (D) in the same competitive district, it made for one of the biggest clashes in the 2002 cycle. We anticipated the unions, DCCC and Phelp’s would attack Shimkus on concern for the economy and jobs. So we produced a series of radio ads designed to tell folks how hard John Shimkus works and how much he cares about people.

In combination with a television ad campaign, Shimkus overcame the more than $2 million spent against him and won going away.

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (WV-02)

capitoPortrait_GraphicCongresswoman Shelley Moore Capito always has a tough race... her district has almost twice as many Democrats as Republicans. And yet there are very few members of Congress who represent their constituents as passionately - or with as much class -- as Shelley Moore Capito. Besides that... people like her.

Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA-02)

gingreyPortrait_GraphicDr. Phil Gingrey was one of three Republicans vying for the nomination in this highly competitive Georgia congressional district. In an expensive market like Atlanta, every dollar counts; and radio and direct mail take on special importance. We needed to establish Phil Gingrey as the traditional-values conservative who would work with President George W. Bush.

Despite being considerably outspent, Dr. Gingrey won the primary nomination and went on to win a difficult general election in a predominately Democrat seat.

Client Case Study

Congressman John Shimkus
Illinois 19th District

In 1996, when Democrat Dick Durbin vacated his House seat to run for Senate, he hand-picked a successor who had the backing of the National, and State Democrat Party and the AFL-CIO. John Shimkus, however, had other plans.

Congressman John Shimkus - Illinois 19th District

Marsh Copsey worked with Shimkus the entire way, navigating a 7-way primary and then winning a difficult general election despite being outspent by a ratio of 3 to 1 in a race targeted by national Democrats.
